SAVE THE DATE
Open Cultural Data Hackathon – october 2022

The Open Cultural Data Hackathon, a multi-day cross-border event dedicated to start-ups and innovative enterprises interested in discovering and enhancing the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the border territories between France and Italy, which is still not sufficiently known, will be held from mid-October.
The event stems from the path and the results achieved by the “Far Conoscere” project financed by the Interreg Alcotra European Cross-border Cooperation Programme within the framework of the Integrated Thematic Plan “Heritage, Culture, Economy” (PITEM Pa.C.E.), which combines heritage enhancement, cultural initiatives, education and digital.
Participants in the hackathon are invited to develop creative solutions, through innovative approaches, in a short and pre-established timeframe, using available technology and data to realise prototypes and simulations of products and services, in order to increasingly enhance the digitised cultural heritage thanks to the PITEM Pa.C.E.’s Far Conoscere project, also through the creation of reading paths and multimedia virtual itineraries.
The proposals developed must be in line with the four PITEM themes: prehistory, historical building, sacred and profane, Resistance.

The participating start-ups, in dialogue with professionals, students, researchers and tourism stakeholders, will be able to devise and propose innovative solutions that enhance the cross-border cultural heritage and promote the tourist development of the territory.
It will be possible to participate in the event in person, or follow it remotely by connecting online, on the dates, venues and in the terms that will be communicated.
A jury of sector experts will evaluate and award prizes to the participating projects on the basis of the criteria communicated during the launch phase. All participants will be given visibility on the PITEM Pa.C.E. website and on the institutional websites of the project partners Piedmont Region (and its implementing bodies CSI Piedmont and CNR-IIT), Liguria Region, Aosta Valley Region, City of Nice and GIP-FIPAN, Group of Public Interest Training and Professional Placement – Academy of Nice.
